Scrapbooking with Your Kids and Creating Memories

Scrapbooking with your children and be fun and educational at the same time.  It makes a great summer project for kids or on rainy days when there is nothing to do.
Get together at your table and gather up some photos, embellishments, paper, craft scissors, adhesive, stickers and more and make a fun project with your photos and albums.
Start by creating a child friendly photo or scrapbook album.  Make fun layouts such as vacations, birthday parties, holidays, friends, etc.  If an album is a little too much for your youngster try making a few layouts or individual pages to start with.
Purchase scrapbooking supplies from the Scrapbook.com Superstore!
Have children work with smaller paper such as a 6 x 6" or 8x8"  and use smaller albums so kids won't be overwhelmed or intimidated by such a big project.

Set aside supplies for kids such as punches, stickers, and stamps that would be fun for them to use.  Get some markers and colored pencils out for them to write or draw with.

Teach them some basics such as how to mat a photo or picking colors that go well together for their pages.

Allow them to choose what they want to do and give them some freedom to express themselves.  They will love to express themselves and be creative with the project.

Work for short periods.  Especially with younger children. Older kids can work for longer periods of time but you can decide what works best for your kids.

Help them out when they ask otherwise work on your on individual projects and let them experiment. No matter what the result are of the scrapbooks this will be a fun time and a wonderful experience for you to share with your children.
