Free Easy to Crochet Fingerless Gloves Pattern

Free Crochet Fingerless Gloves Mittens Pattern

Print Friendly and PDF

Materials Needed:
Worsted Weight Acrylic Yarn - I used Knit Picks Mighty Stitch Yarn in the Color Pomegranate
Crochet Hook - Size H (5.00 mm)

Please note since I used a knitting yarn that is very stretchy this pattern may be a little smaller if you use a worsted weight or different type of yarn.  If you need to increase the stitches you may do so by adding hdc to each round (see alternate stitches at the bottom of the page.   Watch the Video

Begin with the Cuff of the Glove - CUFF

There is no left or right glove they are interchangeable. Make two gloves for this pattern.

Chain 11
Rnd 1:  SC in the second ch from hook and ch across, turn (10 stitches)
Rnd 2:  ch 1, sc in first sc, sc in back loops only of the next 8 sc, sc in last sc, turn (10 sts)
Rnd 3-24:  Repeat rnd 2 (10 sts) (do not finish off or cut yarn)
Slip Stitch or sc the two ends of the cuff together to form a cuff.  Begin the next round by crocheting along the edge of the cuff (not cutting the yarn) to begin the hand portion of the glove.

Hand of Glove

Crochet in the round, joining at the end of every row and continuing in the same direction. The first stitch will always be in the same stitch as the join from the previous round.

Rnd 1:  ch 1, sc 25 times along the edge, join to the first sc (25 sts)
Rnd 2:  ch 1, 2 hdc in first sc, hdc in each sc across, join to first hdc (26 sts)
Rnd 3:  ch 1, hdc in each st around join (26 sts)
Rnd 4:  ch 1,  2 hdc in first st, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each st around, join (28 sts)
Rnd 5;  ch 1, hdc in each st around, join (28 sts)
Rnd 6-8:  Repeat Rnd 5 (28 sts)
Rnd 9  ch 1, hdc in first st, skip next 7 sts, hdc in next st and in each st around, join (23 sts)
Rnd 10-13:  ch 1, hdc around, join
Rnd 14:  ch 1, sc around, join
Fasten Off and weave in the ends of yarn!

Note Alternate pattern to increase size:

Rnd 7:  ch 1, hdc in each st around, join (30 sts)
Rnd 8:  ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each st around, join (32 sts). Find Crochet Fingerless Gloves Patterns on Amazon

Review of Knit Picks Mighty Stitch Yarn and Pattern Ideas

Mighty Stitch Yarn review and pattern ideas Mighty Stitch Yarn from Knit Picks  - A new yarn is available from Knit Picks and it as soon as I received it in the mail and opened the box it had me thinking what should I make with this soft yarn in these vibrant colors? I have to decide if I should crochet something or possibly start knitting again, which I haven't done in a while.  Taking in account the yarn weight, the feel of the yarn, colors and fiber blends this yarn is considerably soft and would be a great yarn for sweaters, blankets, hats and scarves.
Mighty Stitch Yarn Knitting Yarn from KnitPicks.com
The colors I received are Cream, Pomegranate, and Mulberry. If the pictures don't show it these colors are so rich and remind me of great yarn colors for fall and winter!

There are several knitting and crochet patterns that you can use with the Mighty Stitch Yarn because it is easy to work with and machine washable.  I like the fact that since the yarn is 20% Superwash Wool and 80% Acrylic you can use it for garments, accessories and blankets due to the fact that it is an easy care yarn.  In addition while working with the yarn you can see how nice your projects work up with this inexpensive quality yarn.

Mighty Stitch Yarn Sampler
The Mighty Stitch Yarn makes excellent blankets or afghans to knit or crochet.  I would suggest if you want to stitch a larger project you check out the Yarn Samplers page. It's a great way to save on your favorite yarns. This way you can order yarns you use a lot, paired with colors that compliment them. Some of the new pairs are from the Mighty Stitch yarn including Rainbow Mighty Stitch Samplers, Cuddle Blanket Samplers, Forest Lodge Samplers, Blue Mountain Samplers, Wolf and Deer Samplers, and many more at a savings of 25% off plus free shipping on orders over $50 which is easy to do when choosing yarn for a project.

In Addition to the Mighty Stitch Yarn here are some pattern I would recommend trying this yarn out with.
