Free Crochet Baby Set Pattern

Size 2 Bone Crochet Hook
Jack Frost Paradise - 7 3 3/4-oz. Skeins
Jack Frost Art. Silk - 1 Spool
CARRIAGE COVER: With Size 4 Bone Crochet Hook ch 114.
Row 1-Work 5 d c in 5th st from hook, skip 3 sts, 1 s c in next st, * ch 1, 5 d c in same st, skip 3 sts, 1 s c in next st; repeat from * across row ending with 1 s c.
Row 2-Ch 3, turn, work 5 d c in the first s c of last row, 1 s c in the ch 1, * ch 1, 5 d c in the same st, 1 s c in next ch 1; repeat from * across row ending with 1 s c.
Repeat Row 2 for 24 in.
Border-Work 3 s c over each shell, and 2 s c in each corner st around entire cover. Work 7 rows of s c, st for st, working 2 s c in each corner st.
Edging-Row 1-1 s c in first st, * skip 2 sts, 5 d c in 3rd st, skip 2 sts, 1 s c in next st; repeat from * around entire cover, skipping only 1 st at corners. Row 2-With Art. Silk, * work 5 d c in the s c of previous row and 1 s c in the center st of each 5 d c group, repeat from * around entire cover. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 once. Fasten off.
SACQUE: Yoke-With Size 2 Bone Crochet Hook ch 48.
Work 9 rows of d c, st for st. On the next row, work over 14 sts for shoulder, ch 12 at neck edge. Work back and forth over the 26 sts for 9 rows. Fasten off.
Omitting center 18 sts for back of neck, attach yarn and work other side to correspond. Join at underarm with a ch of 8.
Starting at left front edge, work back and forth in shell st pattern, as described for center of carriage cover, working the shell st with 3 d c instead of 5, for 20 rows. Fasten off.
Sleeves-Starting at center of underarm ch, work 12 shell sts across row. Work back and forth in shell st for 14 rows. Work 6 rows of s c for cuffs. Sew underarm seams.
With Art. Silk work 1 row of shell st around entire garment and edges of cuff. Turn back revers.
CAP: With Size 2 Bone Crochet Hook, ch 3. Join with a sl st to form a ring.
Row 1-Work 6 s c in ring.
Row 2-Work 2 s c in each st.
Row 3-* Work 1 s c in each of the first 2 sts, 1 d c in 2nd st of previous row; repeat from * around row.
Row 4-* Work 1 s c in each of first 3 sts, 1 d c around the post of the d c of previous row, inserting hook sideways; repeat from * around row. Continue increasing 1 st in each gore for 12 rows. Omitting 1 gore for back of neck, work back and forth in shell st over remaining 5 gores as described for sacque for 12 rows.
Work 1 row of s c across neck edge of cap skipping every other st. Work 4 rows of s c, st for st, for neckband. Fasten off. Work 6 rows of s c, st for st, across front edge of cap.
With Art. Silk, work 1 row of shell st. Fasten off.
BOOTIES; Ch 9. Work back and forth in s c for 8 rows.
Ch 26 and join to beginning of last row. Work 8 rows of s c around the 3 sides of square and the 26 ch. Fasten off and sew tog. across bottom.
Starting at center of back on top of boot, work back and forth in pattern for 3 in. Fasten off. Sew back seam.
Make a ch 14 in. long and lace through as illustrated. Trim with tassels at each end.

Free Knitting Pattern - Striped Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern

Wide stockinette bands of pink and brown are framed in seed stitch, making this afghan a real room-brightener.
Knitted measurements:
Approx 291/2" x 37"/75cm x 94cm
Materials:
• 4 31/2oz/100g balls (each approx 220yd/201m) of Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (superwash wool) in #818 mocha (MC)
• 2 balls in #840 iris (CC)
• Size 6 (4mm) circular needle, 36"/91cm length or size to obtain gauge
Seed stitch:
(over an even number of sts)
Row 1: (RS) *K1, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 2: K the purl sts and p the knit sts.
Rep row 2 for seed st.
Stripe pattern:
Working in St st (knit on RS, purl on WS), *work 16 rows CC, 16 rows MC; rep from * (32 rows) for stripe pat.
Blanket:
With CC, cast on 140 sts. Work in stripe pat, until 15 stripes have been completed, ending with a CC stripe. Bind off using CC.

Gauge:
22 sts and 29 rows to 4"/10cm over St st using size 6 (4mm) circular needle. Take time to check gauge.
Side Borders:
With RS facing and MC, pick up and k 170 sts evenly along one side edge. Next row (WS) Knit. Work in seed st for 2"/5cm, end with a WS row. Bind off in seed st. Rep for opposite side edge.
Top Border:
With RS facing and MC, pick up and k 11 sts along edge of side border, 140 sts along bound-off edge of blanket, then 11 sts along edge of side border —-162 sts. Next row (WS) Knit. Work in seed st for 2"/5cm, end with a WS row. Bind off in seed st.
Bottom Border:
Work as for top border, picking up 140 sts along cast-on edge of blanket.
Finishing:
Block piece lightly to measurements.
